Instagram @Week Fourteen

What a long weekend which has come and gone by in a blink of an eye! Hope Week 14 went great for you as well. Here's a recap of what Week 14 looked like for me,

Monday: It has been bucketing with rain for weeks and today was no exception. Such cooling weather. But, it was crazy enough to topple an approx. 50g Jambu plant/tree down and destroyed the fruits it was bearing.

Tuesday: 'The Wedding Letters'  is now available in stores and am so grateful that Mr. L got it for me. Time to be inspired by Jason F. Wright once again.

Wednesday: I declare Wednesdays - Indulgence Day! Who can resist a chocolate cake, what's more, a. double. chocolate. layer cake Mom and I baked?

Thursday: My favorite scene in the movie, 'The Vow' - Paige: "I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they’re not. To agree to disagree on red velvet cake, and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home." Leo: "I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. I vow to love you, and no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find a way back to each other."

Friday: Does having desserts or ice cream in particular cheer you up when you are feeling down as well? They work for me and ice cream with waffles I had at Udders.

Saturday: Having family and friends over for Easter tea is a blessing. We couldn't be more full with Mom's wonderful Easter tea ring, scones and hot cross buns.

Sunday: Drove to the airport to welcome L. back to humid Singapore. So glad to have her back!

Happy Easter everyone!
God Bless.

Dear Doughnut, your delectable glazes and marmalade filling make my heart skip a beat. Even though we don't get to spend time together often, I do cherish those rare moments when we see each other.
Dear DSLR 500D, I feel so handicap without you by my side. I promise to take extra good care of you when you are back in my hands. Pinky promise.
Dear Gourmet Jelly Beans, very addictive indeed though Liquorice and Caribbean Coconut I'm still learning to accept the both of you. Heard you have some medical benefits? Not a very pleasant taste in my mouth though.
Dear Boots Indigestive Suspension, 1 tablespoonful 4 times daily. 1 hour after meals and at bedtime. Hope you help.

Dear Kiwi Berries, when Sis brought you home, I thought you were limes without reading the package label. Apologies, but I think you are absolutely adorable like Cherry Tomatoes without having to go through the hassle of peeling your skin off like Kiwi.
Dear Cheerios Cereal, we both know how much I love you. No other cereals work out for me except you. Thank you for being part of my life. Morning breakfasts just would not be the same without you. You're my morning breakfast soul mate.
Dear Uncle Rick, wow! Thanks for the cuttlebone/cuttlefish bone you found. You're sure lucky at finding such interesting items at the beach. I still keep that huge shell you picked up for me years back. Truly worth keeping.

Yours truly,
Ashley.

Words From Yesterday

Mr. L and myself have talked about having a blog together way back before we got together but never  actually done so until now. Being inspired by Jason F. Wright's novels and Today's Letters, we felt that it was time the both of us created a blog not only where we can express our thoughts, write letters to each other & loved ones, and share our adventures and many other things we enjoy doing as a couple, but remember how this will make us grow and further improve our relationship.

So do check out our blog at Letters: Words From Yesterday, and we hope you'll take joy in reading our posts as much as we love writing them!

Yours truly,
Ashley.

Today's Letters.

In today's fast pace society, the world is changing. As we are very much surrounded by and dependent on a various social media platforms as our form of communication, the tradition of writing and posting letters to friends and/or loved ones have seemed to die off. I do miss picking up my favorite pen and pour out everything I had to say on those fancy pieces of papers/letter writing pads especially those scented ones.

"There are many things that can change a life....a letter is one of them." - Tag line by Today's Letters

Now, this reminds me of a book - The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright, I read some time back.

This book has a powerful message about redemption and forgiveness. It is a story of Jack and Laurel. Married 39 years, the Coopers lived a good life and appear to have had a near-perfect relationship. Then one night, with his wife cradled in his arms, and before Jack takes his last breath, he scribbles his final "Wednesday Letter."

When their three adult children arrive to arrange the funeral, they discover boxes and boxes full of love letters that their father wrote to their mother on every single Wednesday. As they begin to open and read the letters, the children uncover unimaginable adventures and the shocking truth about their past.

Inspired to begin writing my own letters to friends and loved ones, be it online or offline, here's 'Today's Letters' for a start...

Dear Shux, receiving a letter from you made my day a whole lot better. You are dearly missed even though it's less than a week since you flew back to Brisbane for your final semester. Study hard, play hard and I'll see you in August! Dear Audrey, Happy Birthday to you and may your day be filled with sunshine and smiles, laughter and love. Love you lovely! Dear Mr. L, it was nice of you to treat the girls dessert. You've surely brought more joy and laughter to the table last evening. Another reason why I heart Thee.

Yours truly,
Ashley.
